Rovos Rail has designed a delightful nine-day Golf Safari to entertain the most discerning player. At all venues, there are optional excursions for the entertainment of non-playing guests. This special journey commences in Pretoria and travels east towards the spectacular Drakensberg escarpment en route to Nelspruit. Play at Hans Merensky Golf Estate or enjoy a game drive in the world famous Kruger Park followed by lunch. Tee off at the Royal Swazi Golf Club, near Manzini in Swaziland, while non-golfers visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory, lunch at Guava Galleries followed by a game drive in the Mkhaya Game Reserve. Then it’s on to Zululand for game viewing in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve. Play one of South Africa’s finest courses, the Durban Beachwood Country Club, while non-playing guests enjoy a city tour of Durban followed by lunch at the Golf Club.In the foothills of the imposing Drakensberg Mountains 18-holes await at the Champagne Sports Resort, with a guided tour of the Battlefields a further highlight for non-golfers. Relax as the train travels north towards the magnificent resort of Sun City in the Pilanesberg Mountains. A full day is spent at this world-famous facility before departing for Pretoria where this memorable journey ends.

Cancellation Insurance
Cancellation insurance is compulsory as our terms and conditions will be strictly adhered to and cancellation fees, where applicable, will not be waived.
Cuisine and Ambience
Breakfast, lunch and a formal dinner are served in one sitting only in the charming Victorian atmosphere of the Dining Cars – meals, carefully prepared, are complemented by a selection of fine South African wines. Meals can be adapted to suit special requirements by prior arrangement. The Observation Car seats 32 passengers and takes up the rear end of the train. The coach next to it contains a smoking lounge which seats eight. At the centre of the train we have, when numbers dictate, a non-smoking Lounge Car, which seats 26 passengers in comfort. In maintaining the spirit of travel of a bygone era, there are no radios or television sets onboard and the use of cellular telephones is confined to the privacy of the suites.
Dress
During the day, the dress is smart casual. Attire that is more formal is worn in the evening on the “Pride of Africa”.A jacket & tie is a minimum requirement, please. Please include warm clothing for cold mornings and evenings.

Gratuities
Gratuities for the staff are totally at your discretion. If you wish to show your appreciation in this manner, a suitably marked envelope is included your information folder. Gratuities may be handed to the manager who then distributes any amounts collected by him on a pro rata basis amongst the staff on board.
Anti malarial precautions are recommended for Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania, Kruger National Park, Swaziland and Victoria Falls departures.
LaundryThere is a limited and simple laundry service on board comprising of household washers, dryers and steam irons. The turn around is 48 hours so the staff would not be able to handle a week’s worth of washing. Please advise your hostess if your clothing needs specialist attention.
Passports & Visas
The onus is upon the client to ensure that passports and visas, as may be required, are valid.
Pretoria to Cape Town Journey
On the second morning of this journey (weather permitting) there is an opportunity to disembark the Train at 08h00 at Whitehill siding and walk or jog the 5 kilometres into Matjisefontein. The Train Manager or a member of staff will accompany you. Comfortable walking or running shoes are essential.
Rovos Rail Memorabilia
There is a small gift shop on board and at our station premises at Capital Park in Pretoria. Due to the varying exchange rates, the use of credit cards is preferred.
Scheduling Times & Routes
We cannot be held liable for any delays due to trains not running to schedule. Off-train excursions cannot be guaranteed and will only be undertaken if time and circumstances permit. Departure and arrival times are approximate and cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to alter our routing at any time between departure and arrival points
Smoking
Smoking of cigarettes and cigars only is allowed in the privacy of the suites and in the Smoking Lounge. Please do not throw flammable items such as cigarette or cigar butts off the train, as bush fires in Africa are a constant and dangerous hazard.
HOW TO BOOK: Kindly complete the Reservation Form and forward it together with a deposit of 25% of the tour fare.Upon receipt of your signed reservation forms we will, subject to availability, confirm your place on the selected tour. Upon receipt of your deposit (by you or your Travel Agent) your reservation is confirmed and accepted by us. Final payment is due not later than 8 weeks prior to departure.
CANCELLATION OF CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS
Please Note: Cancellation fees will not be waived. We insist that trip cancellation insurance be purchased.
Cancellations received more than 12 weeks prior to departure are subject to a cancellation fee of 10% of the per person tour price.
Cancellations received between 12 and 8 weeks prior to departure are subject to a fee of 25% of the per person tour price.

Prices: We will do our utmost to keep to the prices published. If however, increases are forced on us we reserve the right, prior to confirmation, to amend the tour price.

OF SPECIAL NOTE: Although certain limited insurances have been arranged, neither Rovos Rail Tours (Pty) Ltd, nor its servants, agents or employees, shall be liable for any loss or damage to passengers’ luggage or effects. Insofar as one of the tours may include a visit to a Game Reserve and whilst attacks by wild animals are extremely rare, similarly neither Rovos Rail, nor its servants, agents or employees, accept any liability whatsoever for any injury or incidents to passengers or their belongings.The passenger hereby waives any claim which he/she may have against Rovos Rail Tours (Pty) Ltd, its servants, agents, employees or subcontractors (all of the aforementioned being collectively referred to as “Rovos Rail “) for any injury and/or loss of any nature whatsoever (including, without limiting the generality of the a foregoing, consequential loss) arising for any reason of any nature whatever directly or indirectly out of any aspect of the tour including, without limiting the generality of the a foregoing, any form of transport used for the purpose of the tour.This waiver shall be binding on the passenger’s executors, heirs, trustees and dependents.The passenger records that all the services and facilities provided to the passenger are accepted voluntarily and with full knowledge that they may expose the passenger to injury, danger or loss. The passenger further records that any statement, representation or information given to him/her by Rovos Rail shall, unless given in writing, not prejudice this waiver in any manner whatsoever.The passenger indemnifies Rovos Rail in respect of any claim that may be made by any third party against it arising out of any claim in respect of which the passenger gives the aforementioned waiver. This agreement shall be governed solely by laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Whether the Booking Agent returns a signed copy of these conditions or not, the conditions will be deemed to have been accepted and will be in force upon confirmation of the booking.
